At about 2.00 pm members observed the pair tending to a quantity of cannabis plants on land off Mira Road and a search of the area revealed 21 cannabis plants resulting in the pair being arrested.

A search warrant was then executed at the couple's residence on Austin Street, Southport and this search located 25 rounds of SKK ammunition, approximately 98 grams of loose cannabis material and 15 cannabis seeds.

Both have been charged with possess a trafficable quantity of cannabis and cultivate a commercial quantity of cannabis and were bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court next month.
