Two arrested for interference with vehicles - Darwin

Members of the Commander's Tactical Team arrested two males yesterday, aged 27 and 33, in relation to interference with motor vehicle offences.

Police witnessed a vehicle of interest travelling along Chambers Crescent in Malak, and upon conducting a search of the car, located 2 grams of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.

Members later executed a search warrant on a house in Hawkins Court, Malak locating approximately $20 000 worth of stolen property, believed to have been from several vehicles that were unlawfully interfered in the Lee Point and East Point car park areas during the past two weeks.

The 27-year-old was charged with:

Obtain benefit by deception
Forgery
Unlawfully possess property
Receive stolen property
Possess Methamphetamine
Drive motor vehicle while unlicensed.

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court today.

The 33-year-old male has been charged with:

Receive stolen property
Unlawfully possess property
Hinder Police
Resist Police in the execution of their duty.

He has been bailed to appear in court on 04 December.
