City Safe members attended the scene and located a 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer sedan engulfed in flames. NT Fire and Rescue personnel also attended and extinguished the fire.

Several witnesses to the incident provided a description to police of two male suspects seen running from the burning vehicle.

A short time later member's patrolling the area located two 23-year-old males fitting the descriptions provided walking along Lindsay Street. They were arrested and are currently being held in the Darwin Watch House and will be interviewed later today.

Duty Superintendent Robert Farmer acknowledges the excellent work of the City Safe team in swiftly arresting the suspects and would like to thank the members of the public who provided descriptions of the two males.

A fire investigator will be examining the vehicle today in order to determine the cause of the fire.
