The graduation ceremony occurred today at 1pm in the NTPFES College Theatrette at the Peter McAulay Centre in Berrimah.

The ARP Squad 105 have successfully completed 10 weeks of intensive training - consisting of legislation, policy and procedure lectures and assessments, including skills training.

The 15 officers have all come from all around the country in order to join the NTPFES with five from both New South Wales and Victoria, three from South Australia, and one from both Western Australia and Queensland.

The ARP is designed to encourage experienced constables from other states and territories to join the NTFPES in order to bring a broad base of skills and experience to the Territory.

The officers have also completed studies in the areas of; working in the NTPFES, IT systems, police safety and practice, investigation procedures, intelligence and information, traffic enforcement, drug and property offences, welfare in the community, domestic and family violence.

14 members of the squad will graduate to the rank of 1/C Constable and 1 member to the rank of Constable.

Commander of the NTPFES College Max Pope said that the event is a very important time in the lives of the officers.

"Equally it is an important event for our community because it marks a further step in our efforts to maintain an environment in which our citizens can feel and be safe," Commander Pope said.

"All the staff at the PFES College wish our new recruits well as they commence the next challenging stage of what I hope will be a long and rewarding careers with our small, proud and well respected service", he said.

The 15 graduates will take up duties across the Northern Territory with the majority going to Alice Springs (5), Tennant Creek (3), Katherine (2), Casuarina (2), Palmerston (2) and Darwin Station (1).
