Three people have been arrested following an assault on a hospital security guard at the weekend.

Just after 2.30am on Sunday police received a report of a disturbance at the Alice Springs Hospital. It appears four males were refused entry to the hospital's Accident and Emergency department due to their level of intoxication. Two security guards were then assaulted by the group, with one being bashed unconscious.

Police arrived and arrested three of the offenders at the scene. The three males aged 18, 18 and 30, will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on assault charges.
