Suspicious person – Alice Springs

Police

Police are urging people to take care when walking alone after a report of a suspicious person on the Golf Course Estate.

Police received a report from the mother of a 9-year-old girl who noticed a suspicious man following her in a car as she was taking her dog for a walk around 9am today.

The girl was walking through the Hillside Gardens area when she noticed a man in a small gold-coloured car following her. The man is described as a Caucasian male, about 186 cm tall with dark hair and a medium build. He was wearing a dark long-sleeved top with white stripes and dark trousers.

Senior Sergeant Paula Dooley-McDonnell said while the girl was not injured or assaulted in any way, this incident serves as a timely reminder to parents and guardians to ensure they keep their children safe and make sure they are aware of the locations of Safety Houses in their area.

Police are urging anyone who notices any suspicious activity to call for assistance or report the matter to police on 131 444.
