A 50-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing in Alice Springs yesterday.

Police received a report just after 3.30pm yesterday that a man had been stabbed at a park in Gap Road. Police found a 31-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to the leg at Acacia Park. He was taken to Alice Springs Hospital where he underwent surgery overnight. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police arrested a 50-year-old man at the scene and he is expected to be interviewed today.
