Armed Hold-Ups – Darwin – 4442772 & 4443134

Police

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses following two unrelated armed hold-ups which occurred in the Darwin area over night.

The first incident involved a male offender who held-up staff at McDonalds, Casuarina Square with a 20cm long carving knife at approximately 8.30pm last night. The offender demanded money before fleeing the area down Bradshaw Terrace towards the Bus Interchange.

He is described as male, 170 cm tall, wearing a white, round neck t-shirt and blue, denim jeans.

He had a black t-shirt wrapped round his head exposing only his eyes and mouth. He also had a moustache.

The offender was described as having "very dark skin" and a limp.

The second, unrelated incident occurred at the Coles Express Service Station on Progress Drive in Nightcliff at approximately 3.30am this morning.

It is believed 3 females entered the store, then two left leaving one female who managed to lock herself into the console and held-up the operator with a pair of scissors, demanding money.

The female then left the premises with a quantity of cash, and all three females fled the scene in a white hatchback vehicle.

The female is described as of Aboriginal appearance, 170cm tall with shoulder length black hair. She was wearing blue denim jeans and a black top.

Police are asking anyone who may have any information in relation to these matters including having seen anyone in the areas around the times of the incidents matching these descriptions, to call them on 131 444.
