NT Emergency Service Volunteers Travel to Old to Provide Relief

Police

A second contingent of NTPFES personnel travelled to Brisbane earlier today to assist with the Queensland flood catastrophe.

The 13 Emergency Service Volunteers from Darwin, Palmerston, Alice Springs and Hermannsburg and one NT staff member will be assisting the Queensland State Emergency Service for five days.

The group is made up of Storm Damage and Flood Boat trained operators who will be used by the Queensland SES to provide relief to their crews.

The National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre supplied vaccinations for the group travelling to the flooded areas this morning, before they left for Brisbane at about 12:45pm. The members are expected back in the Territory late Tuesday.

NTPFES will continue to provide assistance to Queensland as requests are received.
