Arrests for sexual assaults on children – Central Australia

Detectives from the Child Abuse Taskforce Southern (CATS) have arrested two people in relation to separate incidents of indecent dealings and sexual assaults on children.

On Friday, January 15, a 38-year-old man was arrested in relation to sexual offences on a child committed between June 2006 and January 2009. The female victim was 10-years -old when the offending commenced in a remote community in Central Australia.

On Monday, January 18, detectives from CATS arrested a 15-year-old boy in relation to alleged sexual assaults on four girls aged between four and six. The incidents occurred between September and December last year in Alice Springs.

Both alleged offenders have been bailed to appear in court next month.
