Police have arrested six offenders in relation to two separate unlawful entries over the weekend.

At approximately 7:30pm last night police received a report of a break in at a residence in Gray. Members attended immediately and arrested three males and one female who were in possession of stolen property.

It is alleged that a 30-year-old, 31-year-old and 32-year-old male and a 24-year-old female forced entry into the residence and stole a quantity of cash totalling $2400 as well as alcohol and other miscellaneous items including toilet paper, canola oil and a cassette radio.

The offenders are currently in police custody and are expected to be interviewed in relation to the matter later today. All stolen property has been returned to its owner.

Separately, at approximately 1:00am on Saturday 6 February police arrested a 15-year-old male and 16-year-old male in relation to an unlawful entry and stolen vehicle in Malak.

Members conducting a foot patrol in the area at the time observed a white Toyota Hi-Ace being driven erratically. The vehicle parked at the intersection of Halpin Road and Darwent Road and the two occupants left the area.

The vehicle contained an amount of stolen property including a flat screen television, a portable DVD player, a laptop computer and a broadband modem.

A short time later police arrested the two youths, after a short foot pursuit of the 15-year-old. Both have been charged with unlawful entry, stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The 15-year-old has also been charged with driving whilst unlicensed and driving with a mid range blood alcohol level.

They have been bailed to appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court on 9 February 2010.

Sergeant Andy Bedwell applauded the efforts of attending members.

"The attending General Duties Police members swift and decisive actions on the respective evenings allowed for the offenders in each case to be brought quickly to justice," he said.
