Police were alerted to an aircraft in distress near Jessie's Gap in Alice Springs today.
At 12:35pm today AUSSAR reported a distress call received from a two seater helicopter, indicating the pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing at Jessie's Gap.
Alice Springs Police attended the scene and a short time later located the helicopter and pilot. It appears the pilot decided to make the emergency landing due to a warning signal.
The pilot received no injuries as a result of the landing.
The aircraft received no damage as a result of the incident and has since been flown back to Alice Springs Airport.
