A 14-year-old male youth is currently in police custody in relation to an assault that occurred in Moulden yesterday.

It is alleged that the 14-year-old male victim was walking near the Moulden Shops at approximately 6:30 pm when he was approached by the offender.

A verbal altercation occurred before he assaulted the victim and stole a small sum of money, before threatening him and fleeing the area.

Patrolling members located and apprehended the offender a short time later.

He was taken to the Darwin Watch House and is expected to be charged later today with stealing with violence.
