A 20-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly threatened a group of people with a chainsaw overnight.

Police received a report around 7pm last night after five people were involved in an argument over the ownership of a motorbike in Kapool Crescent, Malak. During the argument the offender allegedly picked up a chainsaw, started it and chased the group as they ran and locked themselves in a house and called police. The man then fled but later surrendered himself at the Casuarina Police Station where he was arrested.

He is expected to be interviewed later today.
