Casuarina Police have charged a 19-year-old man after a member of the public reported a suspicious transaction at a local business.

It is alleged the offender attended the shop in an attempt to sell a gold bracelet valued at $400, which police identified as being stolen from a house on Rocklands Drive last Thursday.

Police arrested the man yesterday and conveyed him to Darwin Watch House, been charged with the following offences and bailed to appear at Darwin Magistrates Court on 26 May.

Receive stolen property.
Obtain benefit by deception.

Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan said "this is an excellent example of the public working with police in an effort to stop these offenders making a profit from crime".
