Palmerston Police have charged a 26-year-old man in relation to assault, stealing and possess ammunition without a permit offences.

The man was arrested yesterday after a search of his Grey address located an amount of ammunition and stolen property.

Police allege that on April 29, the offender assaulted a 31-year-old man at a Grey residence and number of personal items, including a wallet and mobile phone, were stolen from the victim during the night.

He has been bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court on 26 May.
