Casuarina Detectives have two people in custody in relation to a sexual assault that occurred at 5:30 pm yesterday.

It is alleged that a 54-year-old woman was sitting with a 38-year-old male near the bicycle path between the University and the Beachfront Hotel when an altercation occurred.

She was then sexually assaulted by the male and physically assaulted by a 43-year-old female that was nearby.

The offenders are currently in police custody with the male expected to be charged with sexual intercourse without consent and the female expected to be charged with aggravated assault later today.
