Stealing charges - Casuarina

Police have charged a 36-year-old female in relation to a number of stealing offences that occurred yesterday at Casuarina Shopping Square.

The female attended a clothing store within Casuarina at approximately 1:30 pm and was witnessed to be placing items into a basket in her possession.

Police Beat members were notified and attended the location, however the woman proceeded to cause a substantial disturbance, was arrested and taken to the Darwin Watch House.

It was later established that she had approximately $4,400 worth of stolen property in her possession.

She received a trespass notice from the shopping centre and has been charged with stealing, resist arrest and reckless endangerment.

She was bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court on 31 May 2010.
