Katherine Police charged a 29-year-old Adelaide River man in relation to a number of drug trafficking offences.
Members yesterday attended a local bus terminal to conduct screening of passengers and luggage on board a bus destined for Darwin. While conducting the screening drug, detector dog Leo provided a positive result to the man and a subsequent search of his carry on luggage was conducted.
Police located and seized approximately 235 grams of cannabis and a number of cannabis seeds.
The offender has been charged with possessing a trafficable amount of cannabis and is due to appear in Katherine Magistrates Court on 30 May.
Sergeant Ian Young said: "The drug detector dogs are an excellent asset to Katherine Police and will no doubt continue to achieve results like these in the future."
