Shooting – Update #5 -Alice Springs

Two men have been charged with attempted murder in relation to the shooting of a 44-year-old man at a camp site near Alice Springs at the weekend.

Detectives from the Regional Investigations Division arrested a 19-year-old man on Monday and a 22-year-old man on Tuesday following the shooting near the Junction Waterhole on Saturday night.

They have both been charged with attempted murder, intending to cause serious harm and recklessly endangering life. The 19-year-old has also been charged with a number of firearms offences. They have been remanded in custody and will both appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.

The victim has been flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he has undergone surgery and remains in a stable condition.
