Firearm theft - Howard Springs

NT Police have arrested three 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old male in relation to stealing and firearms offences committed in March this year. Police received a report on 12 March of an unlawful entry at a Howard Springs residence, alleging that a number of firearms had been stolen.
An extensive investigation by members of the Commanders Tactical Team culminated in the execution of several search warrants on northern suburbs and rural area residences last week which resulted in the location of the following firearms: 2 x .22 Rifle .308 Rifle 177 Air Rifle .22 Air Rifle A 410 shotgun was located over the weekend dumped in a Casuarina Beach bin. That weapon had been unlawfully modified after being stolen. Two men have been charged with the following offences: 1 x aggravated unlawful entry of dwelling 1 x stealing 5 x possess/use firearm unlicensed One man will be summonsed in relation to the following: 1 x Aggravated unlawful entry of dwelling 1 x Stealing 5 x possess/use firearm unlicensed The youth is expected to be summonsed for the following offences: 2 x Possessing a firearm whilst unlicensed 1 x Unlawfully modifying a firearm 2 x Sale of firearms without a license. One of the 18-year-old offenders faces additional charges of: 2 x sale of firearms without a licence 1 x unlawfully modify or repair a firearm The two men charged have been bailed to appear in court on 18 August.
