Motor Vehicle Crash - Coolalinga

NT Police attended a motor vehicle crash on the Stuart Highway in Coolalinga this morning. Police received the report at approximately 9:45 am of a crash involving a Ford Falcon Station Wagon, Ford Focus and a Mitsubishi V3 truck. It is alleged the 64-year-old male driver of the Ford Falcon was travelling from a service road next to the Stuart Highway opposite the United Service Station and has entered the middle traffic island to cross the Stuart Highway. Upon entering the intersection the Ford Falcon has struck the Ford Focus which was being driven by a 73-year-old female that was travelling inbound. The Ford Focus has then collided into the Mitsubishi Truck that that was stationary outside the service station. The 73-year-old female and 64-year-old male driver were both taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance. The 73-year-old female remains in hospital in a stable condition and the 64-year-old male has since been discharged. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
