Two inbound lanes and one outbound lane on Trower Road were closed for almost three hours this morning after the driver of a stolen Toyota Yaris collided with a power pole at the intersection of Trower Road and Lakeside Drive.

Police located the stolen vehicle in Ludmilla at 5:53am before commencing a pursuit that lasted eight minutes before a 15-year-old male youth lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

Inbound traffic was diverted down Rothdale Road.

NT Fire and Rescue personnel attended the scene and extracted two 15-year-old youths from the car before St John Ambulance conveyed them to Royal Darwin Hospital.
Members from the Major Crash Investigation Unit are conducting inquiries to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

The vehicle is believed to have been stolen from a home in Ludmilla overnight.
