Drug seizure - Karama

Police

NT Police have arrested a man in relation to a number of drug offences after conducting a search of his Karama home yesterday.

Members Commanders Tactical Team along with the Dog Operations Unit attended the Kwinana Court unit 11:45 am and executed a search warrant, utilising drug detection dog Puma.

As a result of the search police located an amount of cannabis hidden throughout the house and seized the following items:

4 x items used to administer dangerous drugs (cannabis)
1 x electronic set of scales
Multiple large clip seal bags containing a total of 215.9 grams of cannabis
1 x clip seal bag containing cannabis seeds
13 x prescription tablets
A 44-year-old man was arrested at the house and later charged with the following offences.

Possess thing to administer dangerous drug
Possess cannabis (trafficable)
He has since been bailed to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on the 29 September.

A second man, aged 43-years-old, was issued with a drug infringement notice for - possess cannabis for personal use.

Sergeant Andy Bedwell said this was a good seizure for NT Police.

"NT Police will continue to target these dealers in an effort to limit the amount of drugs available on our streets".
