A 26-year-old Dutch national died instantly yesterday afternoon when the vehicle he was driving plummeted ten metres into the dry bed of Watch Creek, just outside Timber Creek. One passenger was able to remove herself from the vehicle. Local Fire Emergency Rescue Group (FERG) volunteers were required to use road crash rescue equipment to extract two of the passengers and the deceased from the vehicle. Central Traffic Operations Unit from Katherine and Timber Creek Police are finalising the investigation. Timber Creek police have made contact with the Netherlands Police, who last night notified the relatives of the deceased male.
