Teen charged –Alice Springs

A 15-year-old boy has been charged over an assault on a bicycle rider and three unlawful entries in Alice Springs last week.

The boy and a 14-year-old co-offender were arrested on Friday in relation to the assault on a 42-year-old man who was knocked from his bike near Old Timers around 5.30am on Friday. They were also alleged to have been among a group of youths who unlawfully entered the CAFL club rooms, Pioneer Park Raceway and the Alice Springs Golf Club, and stole alcohol, cash and other goods.

The 15-year-old has been charged with three counts of unlawful entry and one of aggravated assault. He was also allegedly in breach of his bail conditions on unrelated matters.

The youth received Magistrates bail on Saturday to appear in the Youth Justice Court today.

The 14-year-old will be considered for Youth Diversion.
