Unlawful entries CBD - Alice Springs - Arrest update

It is alleged the first of several unlawful entries occurred during the evening of Friday 27 August after the alleged offender gained access to Anangu House by smashing the glass doors with a fire hydrant. A number of offices were ransacked and a quantity of cash was stolen as a result.

Among the offices unlawfully entered were NT Major Events, AAA Accounting, Golden Home Real estate, Southern Cross Television, Cancer Council, Adam Giles MLA Electorate Office, The Department of Health and Ageing and Gridlands lawyers

During the evening of Saturday 28 August, a spate of unlawful entries occurred at Helm House and the Jock Nelson Building. It is alleged the offender gained entry by smashing glass doors and windows and forcing the front doors open. A quantity of cash was stolen and the offices of Lifeline, Karen Louise Book Keeping, CGU Insurance, IT Consultants, STEPS and Anglicare were ransacked.

The man will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates court today in relation to the following offences:
Unlawfully damage property x 10
Stealing x 6
Unlawful entry x 14
