Katherine Detectives arrested a 26-year-old man this morning in relation to an assault in Katherine earlier this week.

Police executed a search warrant at a house in Katherine South where he was subsequently arrested and conveyed to Katherine Police Station.

It is alleged the man produced a bow and arrow from his vehicle before firing it a 33-year-old man on Riverbank Drive during in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The man has been charged in relation to the following offences

Aggravated assault
Going armed in public
Armed with an offensive weapon
He has been bailed to appear in the Katherine court in the near future.

Police are still actively seeking any witnesses to the incident and are particularly interested in any information from any person who might find an arrow on their property in the vicinity of Riverbank Drive and Campbell Terrace, Katherine.
