NT Police and Fire and Rescue personnel attended the scene of a fatal crash on Vanderlin Drive last night

Police were alerted to the crash at 7:15 pm last night where it is believed the driver of a Bowtell scooter collided with the back of a Toyota Hilux after the driver slowed to stop at traffic lights.

The 23-year-old male scooter rider was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital where he died early this morning.

A section of Vanderlin Drive was closed for a number of hours last night.

Investigators from the Traffic Enforcement Section attended the scene and will continue to investigate the exact circumstance

This incident brings the NT Road Toll to 40 compared to 29 at the same time last year.

Police are still calling for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, specifically anyone who stopped to render assistance and left the scene before police arrival. Please contact police on 131 444 if you have further information.
