A 35-year-old man who escaped custody in Alice Springs on Friday has been arrested.

At about 10:00 pm the man escaped from the minimum security cottages at the Alice Springs Correctional Centre.

He was apprehended by police at 10:10 am on Saturday after he was found hiding in the bedroom of a house.

The man has been charged with escape lawful custody and will face the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
