Assault - Parap

Police

A 45-year-old man remains at Royal Darwin Hospital after he was assaulted in Parap on Saturday night.

It is alleged the victim was drinking with a group of friends when three unknown males attended his house about 8:00 pm. A brief argument ensued between the groups before one of the unknown males assaulted the victim with a hammer while a second offender attacked a 49-year-old male with a knife.

St John Ambulance attended the scene and conveyed both men to Royal Darwin Hospital where the 45-year-old victim remains in a stable condition. The second man has since been treated and discharged.

Police immediately conducted patrols and door knocks of the area however, have not yet located the alleged offenders.

The offenders are described as:

Male of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 175cm tall with a medium to large build, black hair and was clean shaven at the time of the attack.

Male of Aboriginal appearance, skinny build and had goatee beard at the time of the incident.

Male of Aboriginal appearance, skinny build with a goatee beard and was wearing a black shirt with white writing on it at the time of the incident.

Police are calling for public assistance and urge anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area on Saturday night to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
