Police have arrested a 44-year-old man who escaped from the low security cottages at the Alice Springs Correctional Centre on Tuesday night.

Peter Dixon walked out of the low-security cottages some time between 8pm and midnight when the alarm was raised. Police arrested the man just after 8.30am this morning when they found him hiding in a vehicle at Little Sisters Camp. He is expected to be charged with escaping lawful custody.
