A 35-year-old woman has been charged with murder following a stabbing at a residence in Aneura Place, Alice Springs on Friday night.

Police were called to the unit around 9.30pm after a 50-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his leg. A St John Ambulance crew attended however the man was declared deceased a short time later.

The woman was arrested and has been charged with murder. She has been remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.

Members of the Regional Investigations Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. Police are calling for anyone who may have been in the area between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Friday night to come forward.
