Due to increased rainfall from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Carlos, the Darwin River Dam has reached capacity causing the spillway to overflow.

Advice is given to households in low-lying areas of the Darwin River area, including Darwin River Road, Reedbeds Road, Old Bynoe Road, Cox Penninsula Road, Mira Road, Blackmore River, Darwin River, and surrounding areas to prepare for localised flooding.

Survey and Rescue crews staffed by Police and the Australian Defence Force are currently monitoring the situation.
