The Victoria Highway has been re-opened this morning, but access is limited to high clearance vehicles.

The road became impassable to all traffic yesterday as heavy rain continued to cause localised flooding of the highway from Katherine to west of Timber Creek.

Police warn motorists to drive with care and abide by the high-clearance vehicle warnings.

The highway is expected to become accessible to all vehicles later today.
