Police are investigating an incident in which a 14-year-old boy appears to have been taken by a crocodile in a remote Northern Territory Community.

Police received a report just after 11.30 this morning that the boy was playing in a creek with his brothers when he was taken by a crocodile. Members of the Milingimbi community began searching the creek and surrounding area for the boy, but as yet there has been no sign of him.

Members of the Territory Response Section from Darwin are flying to the island community this afternoon to lead the search for the boy.
