Attempted armed robbery - Coolalinga

Members from the General Crime Section are calling for public assistance after an attempted armed robbery at Coolalinga last night.



It is alleged at about 11:40pm a 25-year-old female exited Dominos at Coolalinga Shopping Centre after finishing work when she was approached by an unknown male armed with a knife. The man is alleged to have demanded that the victim re enter her work place and hand over the takings from the night.



The victim refused to re enter the shop, ran to her vehicle and locked all the doors. At this point the offender became extremely aggressive and began to punch the victim's car windows while demanding the money. Luckily the victim was able to drive from the scene and called police.



Members immediately attended and conducted patrols of the area, however, were unable to locate the offender.



The offender is described as a Caucasian male, 20-30 years old, about 175 cm's tall, stocky build with short brown hair and was wearing sunglasses a brown shirt, blue shorts and had a bandana tied over his face at the time of the incident.

The weapon is described as a 10cm bladed knife with a red handle.



The man is believed to have fled the scene in a white utility.



Police are calling for public assistance.



Senior Sergeant David Richardson urged anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area to come forward.



"Detectives are continuing their enquiries and we ask any one with further information to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000" he said.
