Police are advising motorists to avoid travelling on the Victoria Highway near Sandy Creek as a result of localised flooding.
The Victoria Highway at the Sandy Creek crossing about 25 kilometres west of Timber Creek is currently experiencing flooding with about 600mm of water over the road.
The section of the highway is unpassable to low and medium clearance vehicles and police are urging motorists to avoid travelling in the area all together if possible.
Brevet Sergeant Michael Lunney advised motorists to expect delays in the area.
"Due to ongoing rainfall in the catchment areas, it is unable to be determined how long delays will be for"
"We are urging motorists to avoid the area if possible" he said.
