Stolen Firearms - Moulden

Police

Police are calling for public assistance after two firearms were stolen from a residence in Moulden last week.

The incident was reported to police yesterday after the 38-year-old occupant arrived home from working away, to find that his house had been broken into. The alleged offender(s are believed to have gained access to the Priore Court unit through a sliding door, before forcibly removing a gun safe from the main bedroom.

The following items were stolen from the residence:

A silver gun safe containing 1 x Lee Enfield Bolt Action Rifle, 1 x Slavia Air Rifle and an amount of ammunition
4 x car racing T shirts (Russell Ingall, Stone Bros Racing, SCA Racing)
A small amount of cash
A crow bar and a knife

This incident is believed to have occurred between the 8th and 15th of March, while the victim was working away.

Members from the Palmerston Tactical Team are continuing investigations today.

Detective Sergeant Rob James said the incident was concerning and urges anyone with information to contact police.

"This incident is concerning as these unknown offenders are now in the possession of two firearms, one of which is high powered; I urge anyone with any information to come forward as Police would like to recover these firearms as soon as possible"
