NT Police and St John Ambulance personnel attended the Leanyer Recreation Park on Vanderlin Drive this afternoon.

At about 4:45pm police received a call from a member of the public, stating that a child was unconscious at the location. Life Guards immediately commenced CPR on the 4-year-old girl before St John Ambulance personnel arrived on the scene. The child was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital, however, died a short time later.

NT Police are conducting an investigation in relation to the exact circumstances surrounding the death and will prepare a file for the Coroner.
