Police are preparing a report for the Coroner after the death of an interstate man at Katherine Gorge yesterday.

Police received a report at around 4:32 pm yesterday that a man was found in the river of the First Gorge.

Initial investigations indicate the elderly man may have slipped on rocky terrain when he was separated from his tour group.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
