Drug Arrest - Alice Springs

A 39 year old man has been arrested after police allegedly found nine point one kilograms of cannabis hidden under the tray of his utility.

The man was heading towards Darwin yesterday afternoon when his vehicle was stopped at a random breath testing station at the Stuart Hwy / Tanami Road intersection.
 
Drug detection dog Otto discovered five grams of cannabis inside the cab of the ute and a further search by police revealed several cryovaced bags hidden in the tray.
 
The man was arrested and taken back to Alice Springs where a full search of the vehicle uncovered a total seizure of seventeen cryovaced bags of cannabis.
 
The man has been charged with possession of a commercial quantity of cannabis and supply of a commercial quantity of cannabis.
 
He was refused bail and the vehicle was seized.
