Police are calling for information after a truck was destroyed by fire overnight.

At about three thirty this morning a member of the public alerted police to a fire at a construction site on Glendowner Road, Holtze, near Robertson Barracks.

Fire crews managed to contain the fire and save several other vehicles in the yard but the Hino water truck was completely consumed by the blaze.

“Fire investigators and police forensic officers have examined the scene and initial discoveries have led investigators to believe the fire was deliberately lit.”  Detective Warren Scott said.

Anyone who may have seen people around the area or acting suspiciously prior to or after the fire is asked to call 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
