A 39-year-old woman remains in hospital in a serious condition after she was struck by a vehicle in Alice Springs.

Sergeant Conan Robertson of the Southern Traffic Operations Unit said the woman was walking on a pedestrian crossing near the intersection of Stott Terrace and Bath Street when the incident occurred at 9:40 last night.

“She was struck by a Nissan Skyline, driven by an 18-year-old man,” Sergeant Robertson said.

The driver was subjected to a road side breath analysis and returned a negative result. He was charged with drive unlicensed and bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Court on March 27, 2012.
