Theft Arrest - Darwin

Police

A 24-year-old man will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court today, charged with stealing 15-thousand dollars from his employer.

Police allege the man was a casual employee for a Knuckey Lagoon based business.

On Tuesday the employer contacted Police, alleging the 24-year-old stole 15-thousand dollars in cash which was to be used to purchase livestock.

“Officers from the General Crime Section yesterday tracked the accused to the Freespirit Resort where he was arrested.” Said Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Board.

“It will be alleged Officers also recovered a small amount of Cannabis, electronic items and clothing suspected to have been bought with the stolen cash.” Said Act. Sen. Sgt Board.

He has been charged with one count of Stealing and once count of Possessing a Dangerous Drug.
