Pedestrian Hit by Car - Nightcliff

Police

A 58 year-old man is in hospital with a suspected broken leg after being struck by a vehicle in Bougainvilia Street, Nightcliff, overnight.

Watch Commander David Wilson said the man had allegedly stepped out in front of the moving vehicle.

“The car has struck the man with the passenger side bumper resulting in him going over the bonnet and hitting the windscreen.  It was a darkened area and the driver was unable to avoid hitting the pedestrian.”

The 19 year-old female driver returned a negative breath test and no charges are expected to be laid.
