Firearm Threats - Coconut Grove

Police

Police have this morning arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly threatening two women with a gun.

It’s alleged the male and two females were at a Coconut Grove residence when a dispute occurred over money.

“It’s at that time Police allege the male has produced a handgun and threatened the women, who both quickly left the premises,” said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Board.

“As the 41-year-old victim drove from the unit, it’s alleged the 25-year-old man has followed her. The victim has called Police who have promptly responded and observed the male in the immediate area and arrested him.”

“Detectives have since seized numerous items from a Coconut Grove residence, including a gun, ammunition and a small quantity of drugs,” said Det Act Snr Sgt Board.

“The 25-year-old remains in Police custody and is assisting Detectives with the investigation.”
