Police

Members from Strike Force Trident have arrested four males aged 13, 16, 17 and 18 in relation to two unlawful entries in Rosebery this week.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said on 26 February the alleged offenders unlawfully entered two homes and stole a number of items, along with a white BA Ford Falcon. The 18-year-old was arrested while driving the stolen vehicle.

“The four alleged offenders were arrested yesterday with Police recovering around $15,000 worth of stolen property from a storm drain in Rosebery.

“We are pleased with this result. It is good to get these people locked up before they break into more houses and steal peoples hard earned possessions.”

The 18-year-old has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court 21 March.

The three youths have been charged with aggravated unlawful entry (x2) stealing (x2) and aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The 13 and 16 year-old have been refused bail and will appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court 1 March.

The 17-year-old has been bailed to appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court 21 March.”

Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said, “People need to take the security of their homes more seriously. People who leave their doors unlocked and car keys within easy access are making it easy for criminals.”
