Police Search for Vehicle Involved in Crash - Palmerston

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed a crash in Palmerston CBD yesterday, resulting in the hospitalisation of a 22-year-old man, to contact Police.

Constable Clayton Richards said it is alleged the 22-year-old male motorcyclist, was cut off by another motorist as he approached the intersection of Temple Terrace and Chung Wah Terrace.

“At around 4:45pm, we believe a car has pulled out in front of the motorbike rider on Chung Wah Terrace and turned right into The Boulevard,” Constable Richards said.

“The 22-year-old man’s motorcycle is believed to have struck the left rear of the offending vehicle. The victim laid the bike down and slid approximately 35 metres across bitumen and the median strip, before striking a small tree.

“The rider received severe leg and pelvis injuries and is currently in the Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“The offending vehicle was described as a black or dark blue Holden VT Commodore station wagon.

“I urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may recognise the description of this vehicle, to contact Police on 131 444.”
