Police have seized a vehicle allegedly involved in a hit and run incident in Alice Springs last night.

Detective Sergeant Michael Schumacher of the Major Crash Investigation Unit said Police have seized a white Toyota Troop Carrier and a man remains in Police custody and is assisting with enquiries.

Police are again appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

“If you were in the vicinity of Ilparpa Road and the Stuart Highway at around 7pm and saw a white Toyota troop carrier, or a woman of Aboriginal appearance wearing a red and white t-shirt and white and brown chequered shorts please contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
